Detailed introduction to Johnson Screen V-shaped wire welding technology, oil sand control advantages and Innovet screen product system.

Johnson Screen, also known as wire wrapped screen, is one of the most widely used sand control filtration equipment in oil extraction. Its unique V-shaped cross-section wire welded structure demonstrates excellent filtration performance and service life in complex downhole environments.

Johnson Screen Wire Welding Process

1. Core Manufacturing Technology

Johnson screens are manufactured using fully automatic resistance welding production lines, continuously winding triangular (V-shaped) cross-section stainless steel wires and welding them onto longitudinally arranged support ribs. The microcomputer system precisely controls current (error ±2A), pressure and travel speed during welding, ensuring weld strength and slot width consistency at each welding point.

Slot precision control is the manufacturing core: according to formation sand particle size distribution, screen slot width can be precisely set in the range of 25μm to 3mm, with tolerance controlled within ±0.05mm, effectively blocking formation sand from entering the wellbore while ensuring smooth flow of oil, gas and water.

2. Advantages in Oil Sand Control

Compared with traditional gravel pack sand control and chemical consolidation methods, Johnson screens offer significant advantages:

Self-cleaning anti-plugging function: The V-shaped opening design creates a narrow-outer and wide-inner filtration surface structure, preventing particle embedding and allowing self-cleaning through backflushing or production fluid.

High-strength corrosion-resistant materials: Utilizing 316L, duplex steel 2205 and other corrosion-resistant alloy materials, resistant to H₂S, CO₂ acid gas corrosion, adapting to high temperature and high pressure complex well conditions.

Convenient installation and maintenance: Integral screen structure reduces running time, enables replacement through workover operations, lowering full lifecycle costs.

3. Innovet Screen Product System
