According to Chinese customs statistics, from January to December 2022, China's stainless steel imports totaled 3.285 million tons and exports totaled 4.5513 million tons.

    In December 2022, China's total stainless steel imports were 236800 tons, a decrease of 54800 tons from the previous month, a decrease of 18.79 percent; a year-on-year decrease of 33600 tons, a decrease of 12.42 percent.

From January to December 2022, China's total stainless steel imports were 3.285 million tons; an increase of 357600 tons year-on-year, or 12.21 percent year-on-year.

   In December 2022, China imported 189800 tons of stainless steel from Indonesia, a decrease of 42200 tons, or 18.19 percent, and 22900 tons, or 10.77 percent, from a year earlier.

   From January to December 2022, China imported 2.7602 million tons of stainless steel from Indonesia, an increase of 524500 tons or 23.46 percent over the same period last year.

   In December 2022, China's total stainless steel exports were 390500 tons, a decrease of 10300 tons from the previous month, a decrease of 2.56; a year-on-year decrease of 52300 tons, a decrease of 11.82.

   From January to December 2022, China's total stainless steel exports were 4.5513 million tons, an increase of 90400 tons or 2.03 percent over the same period last year.

   In December 2022, China's net exports of stainless steel were 153700 tons, an increase of 44500 tons, an increase of 40.75 percent, and a year-on-year decrease of 18800 tons, or 10.89 percent.

   From January to December 2022, China's total net exports of stainless steel were 1.2662 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 267200 tons, a decrease of 17.43.

China's nickel ore imports down 7.55 percent year-on-year in January-December

    In December 2022, China's nickel ore imports were 2.7576 million tons, a decrease of 1.4117 million tons, or 33.86 percent, from the previous month, and an increase of 843000 tons, or 44.03 percent, from a year earlier. Among them, the amount of nickel ore imported from the Philippines was 1.98 million tons, a decrease of 1.6 million tons from the previous month, a decrease of 44.69; a year-on-year increase of 445200 tons, an increase of 29%. Imports of nickel ore from other countries were 777600 tons, up 31.9 percent month-on-month and 104.8 percent year-on-year.

From January to December 2022, China's total nickel ore imports were 40.2408 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.2884 million tons, or 7.55 percent. Among them, the amount of nickel ore imported from the Philippines was 33.4507 million tons; a year-on-year decrease of 5.5924 million tons, a decrease of 14.32; the amount of nickel ore imported from other countries was 6.7901 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 2.304 million tons, an increase of 51.36.

China's ferronickel imports up 58.28 percent in January-December

    In December 2022, China's imports of ferronickel were 619900 tons, an increase of 22800 tons, or 3.81 percent, from a year earlier, and 283900 tons, or 84.5 percent, from a year earlier. Among them, the amount of ferronickel imported from Indonesia was 547000 tons, an increase of 4000 tons, an increase of 7.42; an increase of 253000 tons, an increase of 86.09.

From January to December 2022, China's total nickel iron imports were 5.8961 million tons, an increase of 2.171 million tons or 58.28 percent year-on-year. Among them, the import of ferronickel from Indonesia was 5.3901 million tons, an increase of 2.2498 million tons, an increase of 71.64.

From January to December, China's refined nickel imports fell by 40.26, exports increased by 314.29

    In December 2022, China's refined nickel imports were 14178.358 tons, a decrease of 29 tons, or 0.21 percent, from a year earlier, and 12770 tons, or 47.39 percent, from a year earlier. Among them, 2940.976 tons entered the domestic market after customs declaration and 11237.382 tons remained in the bonded area. The net import volume of customs declaration was 2940.976 tons, down 58.47 from the previous month.

From January to December 2022, China's refined nickel imports totaled 155992.551 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 105122 tons, or 40.26 percent. In December 2022, China's refined nickel exports were 2518.535 tons, an increase of 1100 tons, or 77.49 percent, from a year earlier, and 1609 tons, or 176.88 percent, from a year earlier. Among them, 0 tons of customs exports, 2518.535 tons of bonded area circulation exports, customs clearance net imports of 2940.976 tons, a decrease of 58.47. From January to December 2022, China's refined nickel exports totaled 22513.604 tons, an increase of 17079 tons or 314.29 percent year-on-year.

China's chrome ore imports up 0.37 percent year-on-year in January-December

    In December 2022, China's chrome ore imports were 1.3146 million tons, an increase of 173800 tons, an increase of 15.23, an increase of 52400 tons, an increase of 4.15. Among them, imports of chrome ore from South Africa were 1.109 million tons, an increase of 77500 tons, an increase of 7.51, an increase of 36900 tons, an increase of 3.44; imports of chrome ore from Turkey was 95700 tons, an increase of 64400 tons, an increase of 205.75, an increase of 7400 tons, an increase of 8.39.

From January to December 2022, China's chrome ore imports were 15.0074 million tons, an increase of 55100 tons or 0.37 percent over the same period last year. Among them, the quantity of chrome ore imported from South Africa was 12.3174 million tons, an increase of 304700 tons, an increase of 2.54; the quantity of chrome ore imported from Turkey was 951300 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 84000 tons, a decrease of 8.12.

China's high-carbon ferrochrome imports drop 9.44 percent in January-December

    In December 2022, China's imports of high-carbon ferrochrome were 119700 tons, a decrease of 110900 tons, or 4.81 percent, from a year earlier, and a decrease of 78100 tons, or 39.48 percent, from a year earlier. Among them, the amount of high-carbon ferrochrome imported from South Africa was 44300 tons, a decrease of 54700 tons, a decrease of 55.25; a decrease of 49800 tons, a decrease of 52.93. The amount of high-carbon ferrochrome imported from Kazakhstan was 39900 tons, a decrease of 30400 tons, or 43.24 percent, and 3500 tons, or 8.08 percent, year-on-year. 

   From January to December 2022, China's imports of high-carbon ferrochrome were 2.3835 million tons, a decrease of 248500 tons or 9.44 percent year-on-year. Among them, the import of high-carbon ferrochrome from South Africa was 1.1509 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 140800 tons, a decrease of 10.9; the import of high-carbon ferrochrome from Kazakhstan was 581900 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 51600 tons, a decrease of 8.15.

China's stainless steel scrap imports up 152.51 percent in January-December

In December 2022, China's total imports of waste stainless steel were 37841.208 tons, an increase of 10130.128 tons, an increase of 36.56 percent, an increase of 32602.359 tons, an increase of 622.32 percent.

From January to December 2022, China's cumulative imports of waste stainless steel were 135791.001 tons, an increase of 82014.752 tons or 152.51 percent over the same period last year.
